Resilience and performance tests for Layer 7 components like Content Switches and Load Balancers
The European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC) evaluates and certifies the performance and robustness of content switches and server load balancers. Based on EANTC's extensive library of performance test suite modules, we design and implement individual tests tailored to customer requirements:
Enterprises commission tests of single content switches or complete installations of load balancer farms, to get vendor-neutral consultancy during the RfP process, run independent acceptance tests or get fast troubleshooting test assistance from experienced EANTC test engineers.
Your benefit EANTC's evaluations ensure that you choose the products matching your individual performance, reliability and scalability requirements. Our independent RFP support and acceptance tests confirm the network is robust and scales properly before it is put into production service. In case performance tests fail, we provide you with recommended procedures.
performance Test Procedure We prepare a detailed test plan, based on our performance test database and your individual requirements. The performance tests may be carried out in our lab in Berlin or at the customer site. An experienced team of test engineers and project managers will conduct the performance testing. We always provide a detailed report, including interpreted results and recommendations.
performance Test database The performance test database contains different test modules with a detailed definition of performance test conditions and parameters. The following performance tests can be adapted or new test scenarios can be generated to meet individual requirements:
- HTTP Session Capacity:
Verify how many concurrent sessions the device under test (DUT) can handle, with different numbers of clients. - HTTP Session Rate Performance:
Verify how fast the DUT processes HTTP sessions without loss, for HTTP versions 1.0 and 1.1. - HTTP Latency Performance:
Verify how fast the DUT forwards client requests and responses of different sizes. - HTTP Throughput Performance:
Verify how much HTTP content the DUT can forward without any packet loss. - Secure HTTP (SSL) Performance:
Verify the session rate performance and capacity with active SSL encryption. - DDoS Prevention Performance:
Verify how well distributed denial of service attacks are prevented and how the overall performance is influenced during a DDoS attack. - (Global) Server Load Balancing:
Verify pattern matching related request/session distribution to different server groups.
