MPLS and Ethernet World Congress|Interoperability Event 2009

MPLS and Carrier Ethernet – Service, Connect, Transport

EANTC presented the results of their interoperability test event between 15 vendors at the MPLS & Ethernet World Congress in Paris, February 11-13, 2009.

During the 2 week hot staging in January, engineers from the 15 vendors came to EANTC's lab to perform a series of tests focusing on the latest in MPLS and Ethernet based packet transport. EANTC engineers verified interoperable solutions for MPLS IPv6 BGP VPNs, inter-carrier connectivity, and several vendor combinations of Fast Reroute for resiliency. For mobile backhauling solutions we tested ATM pseudowires and five different types of TDM emulation over the packet switched multi-vendor test network as well as clocking options such as Precision Time Protocol (IEEE 1588v2) and Synchronous Ethernet.

Based on strong suggestions from service providers, EANTC has continued to test Y.1731 Performance Monitoring, an additional functionality of the ITU-T defined Ethernet OAM.

The following vendors are participating in the event: Alcatel-Lucent, Brocade Communications, Calnex Solutions, Celtro, Corrigent Systems, Ericsson, Huawei Technologies, Ixia, MRV Communications, NEC Corporation, RAD Data Communications, Redback Networks - an Ericsson Company, Spirent Communications, Telco Systems - a BATM Company, and UTStarcom.
