Dates
The course duration is two days, from 9am to 4:30pm.
Next seminar:
October 16-17, 2008
Multi Protocol Label Switching is the most advanced technology for the facilitating of traffic engineering, virtual private networks and service quality classes in large IP networks.
Seminar participants (network planners, decision-makers and network operators) will be able to gain a thorough overview of current developments and standards as well as detailed knowledge concerning the operation of the individual MPLS protocols.
In addition to the technology, emphasis is also placed on explaining the concepts of MPLS. The independent position of EANTC once again ensures that the principles of MPLS and recent developments will be presented without any bias towards any specific manufacturers. In our state of the art and fully equipped test laboratory, you will have the unique opportunity to test your newly acquired expertise. This will be carried out directly on various routers and analysers and will be under the guidance of our training personnel.
The seminar will take place in the seminar center of EANTC.
The seminar group size is restricted to a maximum of ten participants. This allows a constructive exchange between the delegates and the trainers. All seminars are generally held in English, although on request, they can be delivered in German. As a significant number of our delegates come from overseas, it should be noted that all of our seminar materials are in English.
EANTC Seminar contents
- Introduction to MPLS technology and current state of development
- Path protection, rerouting and fast rerouting, error recovery
- Signalling protocols: LDP, CR-LDP, RSVP-TE
- Generalized MPLS
- How does MPLS integrate with ATM?
- VPN architecture at layer 2 and IP layer
- MPLS traffic engineering, concepts and implementation
- LAN Quality of Service: Interaction between MPLS and Differentiated Services
- Hands-on training: Setting up an MPLS network in the lab with switches and emulators, analysis of the signalling and data flows
EANTC Seminar aims - The first aim is for you to learn more about the current scope of the application of MPLS. You will also understand how MPLS works in conjunction with other technologies. In addition, you will be provided with an overview of how media independent VPNs are implemented and the way in which MPLS works together with traditional routing protocols. You will have understood the principles of traffic engineering and Differentiated Services.
