Carrier Ethernet Global Interconnect in Paris
EANTC and Light Reading created a service provider interoperability test and showcase program for 2010 to document the state of the art, provide detailed insight into current service offerings and to help accelerate the market.
In detail, EANTC staged a centralized Global Interconnect test infrastructure at ancotel‘s carrier hotel in Frankfurt/Main to support test execution and public presentation of the results. The test was open to service provider participants only.
The goal was to validate advanced Carrier Ethernet interconnects. Mainly, we focused on proving functionality, manageability and SLA support. Additionally, we concentrated on accelerating the wide deployment of interconnections by testing against a common standard. Participating vendors in the test program had the unique opportunity to prove readiness of Carrier Ethernet solutions for real, live interconnect environments.
The results were presented live on February 10-12, 2010 at Ethernet Wholesale Summit in Paris (France).
MPLS & Ethernet Interoperability Event 2010
13 participating vendors under EANTC's guidance performed a wide variety of interoperability tests conducted over a realistic test network during a two weeks hot staging in Berlin.
Our testing concentrated on the latest industry advances. In detail, developments in areas related to MPLS, such as Performance Monitoring, Multicast VPNs were given attention to.
This year, the testing also focused on Packet and Optical Transport Network Integration like GMPLS Integration, OTN Protection Switching and ASON. Additionally, we tested different Mobile Backhaul solutions such as NTPv4 and clock distribution methods, for example IEEE 1588:2008, and Synchronous Ethernet.
The results were presented live on February 10-12, 2010 at MPLS & Ethernet World Congress in Paris (France).
Alcatel-Lucent's 1850 Transport Service Switch
In January 2010, EANTC successfully tested the performance of the packet transport protection mechanisms as implemented in Alcatel-Lucent's 1850 Transport Service Switch (TSS) in Berlin. The testing goal was to show that the MPLS-TP packet transport solution provided by the Alcatel-Lucent 1850 TSS can offer service providers the peace of mind they require with respect to service continuity.
Juniper Networks MX 3D router capabilities with the new Junos Trio Chipset
EANTC was commissioned by Juniper Networks to validate the performance, services scale, and power efficiency of the new 16-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet (16x10GbE) MPC line card and MX80 3D router.

VOIPFUTURE Smart Monitoring Solution
EANTC recently tested the Advanced RTP Monitoring Solution developed by VOIPFUTURE. The test was set up to verify the vendor’s claim that the Smart RTP Monitoring Probe should be able to analyze VoIP streams in real-time at Gigabit Ethernet full line rate, thereby detecting packet loss and IP packet delay variation.
Fifth annual Carrier Ethernet World Congress
EANTC proudly presents the results of the fifth annual Carrier Ethernet Interoperability Test Event between 24 vendors at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress in Berlin, Germany, September 22-24, 2009.
Design Verification Test
Alcatel-Lucent and EANTC recently performed a design verification test for a major European carrier to emulate performance and operability of the vendor's 7750 SR-7 and 7740 ESS-7 devices under real-life conditions.
This latest test was set up to verify the use for aggregation Ethernet Backhauling of Layer 3 VPN services over layer 2 services, both of them MPLS-based.

IP Video Testing White Paper
With all the recent IP Video testing experiences we had collected we authored a white paper discussing IP Video testing methodologies.
The white paper discusses the building blocks of IP Video testing such as Quality of Expereince, Resiliency, Scalability and Performance. We explore in depth such aspects as accuracy of failover time measurements, relevant standards and test parameters design.

Independent Test of Peer-to-Peer Filterering Solutions
Last month, we once again carried out an independent performance evaluation of Cisco Systems’, Procera Networks’ and Ipoque’s solutions for carrier grade peer-to-peer filtering, using a large-scale realistic test bed with Ixia equipment.
The complete report is available on internet evolution's website.

Light Reading publishes EANTC's Megatest of Cisco’s IP Video Infrastructure
Light Reading, a TechWeb online magazine commissioned EANTC to independently test Cisco Systems' video infrastructure called medianet. We challenged Cisco by asking: How much of the medianets vision is already available for an independent test today?
Cisco was ready for our test of all aspects of the medianets infrastructure. It was an extraordinary effort: fifteen Cisco business units were involved, preparations took six months, and uncounted Cisco systems participated. We tested the service delivery network, the end-user applications and Cisco’s IP video data center components. The results are published in three articles on Light Reading’s website.
